EMDR Counseling in Georgia

Trauma isn’t just something that happened in the past—it can live on in your body, your thoughts, and the way you relate to the world around you. Whether you’ve experienced a single overwhelming event or years of ongoing distress, trauma can leave you feeling stuck: anxious, numb, disconnected, or carrying a deep sense of shame. You might find yourself reacting in ways you don’t fully understand—shutting down, staying hyper-alert, avoiding closeness, or feeling like your body isn’t a safe place to be.

If any of this sounds familiar, please know: you are not broken. You are not alone. And healing is possible.

As someone who has done my own trauma work, I know how heavy and confusing the healing process can feel. I also know how powerful it is when your nervous system finally gets the chance to let go of what it’s been holding onto for so long. That’s why I offer EMDR therapy—a gentle, evidence-based approach that helps the brain and body reprocess painful experiences so they no longer hold the same emotional weight.

You don’t have to retell every detail of what happened. EMDR meets you where you are and helps your system find resolution—safely, and at your pace.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the brain reprocess painful or disturbing memories so they no longer feel emotionally overwhelming. Instead of having to talk through every detail, EMDR uses tools like eye movements or tapping to activate the brain’s natural healing processes. It’s especially helpful for trauma, but it can also support healing from:

  • PTSD and complex trauma

  • Childhood abuse or neglect

  • Medical trauma and chronic illness stress

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Grief and loss

  • Negative self-beliefs and shame

  • Relationship wounds and attachment issues

EMDR can support you in:

  • Processing trauma in a way that doesn’t require you to relive it

  • Reducing the intensity of triggers, flashbacks, and intrusive thoughts

  • Addressing negative beliefs like “I’m not enough” or “It was my fault”

  • Reconnecting with your body in ways that feel safe and grounded

  • Healing attachment wounds and relational trauma

  • Reclaiming a sense of trust, safety, and self-compassion

  • Moving from survival mode to living with more ease, clarity, and connection

You deserve a space where your story is honored and your healing is supported—with gentleness, attunement, and care. EMDR is not a quick fix, but it is a powerful tool for real, lasting transformation.

Your past may have shaped you—but it doesn’t have to define you. You are capable of healing, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you move toward peace, freedom, and wholeness.
